Dog registrations are valid from the 1st November to the 31st October each year. Dog registration fees are:

Dog owners have an obligation to keep their dogs under control at all times. Dogs wandering at large present a nuisance and a danger to public. The Shire Ranger carries out dog patrols and responds to complaints. The Dog Act provides heavy penalties for owners whose dogs are impounded. Ranger services are provided by the Shire of York.

Cat Registration
As from 1 November 2013, all domestic cats in Western Australia, over six months of age, will need to be sterilised, microchipped and registered with their local government as the full Cat Act 2011 came into effect.
Cat registrations are valid from the 1st November to the 31st October each year. Cat registration fees are:
